Parks and Recreation

The City of Madisonville is fortunate to have more than a dozen parks and recreational facilities scattered throughout the community. They range in sizes from roadside parks of less than an acre to more than 200 acres. The Madisonville Parks and Recreation Department is committed to improving the quality of life for all Madisonville citizens by providing a wide variety of leisure activities, facilities and services that encourage health, fitness, relaxation, enjoyment, fun and learning, as well as, providing opportunities for community involvement, appreciation and care of the natural environment with the provision of open space parks.

Kayak rentals:

Single kayak - $20 for 2 hours

Tandem kayaks - $30 for 2 hours

Paddleboards - $20 for 2 hours


Mini Golf:

Adults $5

Under 18 $3


Facility Rentals:


Clubhouse - $125 deposit           $250 alcohol deposit

Half day rental (8am-3 pm OR 5pm-12am) - $175

Cherry Park features four pickle ball courts that are free for our residents to enjoy, but these courts are famous for pickleball games during the daylight hours. No reservations are required!

Mahr Park Arboretum is a 265-acre park in Madisonville, Kentucky, featuring a natural environment looming with wildlife, native trees, and plants. The park was gifted to the City of Madisonville in 2009 by Dr. Merle and Glema Mahr and officially opened in October of 2016. Mahr Park Arboretum features a variety of recreational and educational opportunities for our community. Enjoy our trails, Nature Play Area, fishing ponds, kayak launch, dog park, disc golf courses, and picnic pavilions.
